NYAS
If you are going to be in a situation where decisions are being made about your life and you think that you would like an adult with you to help you to get your voice heard then The National Youth Advocacy Service (NYAS) might be able to help. It is children’s charity which provides representation and advice, ensuring that the voice of children and young people can be heard in all matters affecting them.
They could help you to get your voice heard if you are going to be excluded from school or if you want to make a complaint about your social worker, for example. You can call their helpline on 0800 61 61 01 for more information about how they can help you.
Youth Forums
A great way of getting involved in what happens in your community and getting your voice heard and listened to by the people that matter is to join a forum, which is just a group of people who meet to discuss issues that are important to them.
Flintshire has a County Youth Forum for 11-25 year olds called FYF that meets regularly to talk about issues that affect young people living in the county. Anybody is welcome to join so if you would like more information you can call the Youth Forum Worker on 01352 771232 or download the FYF Leaflet.
