3rd October, 2008 - Voluntary Youth Services Support (VYSS) Forum
The next VYSS Forum has been organised to take place on Fri, 3rd October 2008, in Ty'r Binwydden. Voluntary and Statutory sector organisations are warmly invited to this meeting, which brings together youth support services from across the County. The event is an ideal opportunity for organisations to network with other agencies, to share what is happening and hear what other services exists for children, young people and families in Flintshire.
Speakers in October include:
• Kelly Aldcroft (from Choose to Change) – to let you know about this new service that helps men who are/have been perpetrators of domestic abuse but want to change the way they behave in their relationships (the service also offers support to their partner during this time);
• Ian Jones (from Scope) – to give an overview of what Scope can offer to people with various disabilities (and in particular cerebral palsy) who live in North Wales;
• Jonathon Bentley (from North Wales Play Association): to explain how young people across North Wales (including Flintshire) might benefit from this organisation;
• Gail Bennett to update you about the latest developments in ‘Flintshire’s Parenting Strategy’ and to explain how your organisation can continue to have an input into this important document.
The next forum meeting will again take place in Ty’r Binwydden, Clayton Road, Mold on Fri, 3rd October 2008. It will begin at 10am, with the aim of finishing by 12pm. Please note that there will be a break in the middle of the event for networking and ‘elevenses’ (coffee and cakes) will be provided!
Places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. To book a place at the Forum, please contact Louise Blackwell at Flintshire Local Voluntary Council 01352 744002 or louise.blackwell@flvc.org.uk by September 19th 2008 at the latest.
